Does the Red Ring of Death for xbox 360 still a current much?
I’m planning to get a next gen game console. My choices are ps3 or x box 360 ( most of my friends have the wii already). The X Box 360 is a lot cheaper than the PS 3 and i was wondering if the Red Ring of Death still happens much? And Whats the difference between the X Box 360 pro and the elite? Or should i just wait until the Ps3 40gig comes out.
And these are the pros and cons i know for 360 and ps3
X Box 360- pro
Cheaper
better graphic
more games to choose
Con
Play for the X box live
Ring of death
overheats a lot?
scratches cd?? <– not sure about that one
Ps3 pro
Blu-ray
wont overheat as much
free online
Cons
expensive
so what other pro and cons are there for the 2 systems ?

How do you fix the XBOX 360 Red ring of death without paying 20 dollars for a video or sending it in?
I would rather not pay for a video or send it into Microsoft so anyone else who has had this problem please let me know.

Editor answers:
Turn it on, wrap it in a blanket, and let it overheat.

Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death Question?
Recently my 360 got the red ring of death, I was wondering if the hardrive with my saves are alright. Also can you safely connect the hardrive to another xbox? Just wanting to know while im saving up to get mine repaired.
Also there were 3 lights in the ring, I think that means a hardware problem.

Editor answers:
Don’t worry, your hard drive is fine. Allow me to tell you what the red ring of death, or the E 74 error code, is. When your Xbox is poorly ventilated, it heats up the X-Clamps on the motherboard that holds things in place. When the X-Clamps heat up, they vibrate, and the GPU gets out of place. It has nothing to do with the hard drive, all your saved games are safe.

What should I do with my Xbox 360? Red ring of death, read this!?
My Xbox got the red ring of death, and I sent it to M$ and they said the warranty was void (for whatever reason). Now I have a broken 360 here, and don’t really want to buy a brand new one if I don’t have to. Any ideas on what I can do? Thanks!

How to fix Red Ring of Death (Xbox 360)?
My xbox got RRoD and I’m out of warranty, what should I do?

Editor answers:
Well i know a technique that is sure to work because my cousins do this all the time. This may sound crazy but this actually works so trust me on this
unplug everything except for the power cord. Have the console turned on. Wrap the entire console in 3 large towels. Wait about 15-20 minutes. Unwrap the towels and then you turn off the game console. Leave it off for about 20-25 minutes. Plug everything back up and then turn back on the console. You will be surprised how this works
basically this just sorta fries the chip but this will temporarily fix your problem between 3 hour to 3 days. Maybe even a week. Depends on how serious it is or hold old it is. If this still doesnt work then go ahead and buy the new xbox 360 S but i wouldnt see why this technique wouldnt work
